Seoul Hoping to Win over Shanghai with Kim Hyun-joong

The Seoul Metropolitan Government is hoping to promote the city with the assistance of K-pop star Kim Hyun-joong.
The local authority announced on Monday that it will install large-scale advertisement boards showing the image of its new promotional ambassador at a large department store in Xujiahui, Shanghai, until the end of the year. The Xujiahui area one of the largest shopping zones in Shanghai, and can be compared to Myeongdong in Seoul.
According to the city government, the new advertisement board portrays Seoul as a shopping hub and uses the Han River and Namsan N Tower as a backdrop.
Kim has become one of the hottest Korean Wave stars after he starred in the TV series “Boys Over Flowers,” which became hugely popular in Japan.
“Kim was chosen as the most popular star in China and Southeast Asia according to our field survey,” the local government said. “Through this promotional activity we hope to see a boost in the number of Chinese tourists visiting Seoul.”

Singer Kim Hyun Joong opened up about his drinking habits on the latest episode of SBS‘s ‘Strong Heart‘.
On November 1st, he revealed that it wasn’t easy for him to get close with his agency family members, but eventually, they got more comfortable with each other after a few drinks. When they go overseas, fans usually crowd the hotel lobby, so a lot of times they drink wine in their rooms together.
“One time we were bored, so we agreed that the first person to get drunk would have to face penalties. Thankfully, the others got drunk before I did,” he said.
Kim Hyun Joong continued, “We usually draw on the drunk person’s face. I didn’t think any of them had it in them, but everyone enthusiastically drew all sorts of thing.”
‘Strong Heart’ then revealed the photos taken of the drunken individuals with drawings all over their faces. The photos were so shocking that it immediately caused the entire set to howl with laughter. Unfortunately, there weren’t any photos of Kim Hyun Joong himself, which proved that he’s always one of the last to get drunk.
“I have be careful not to ever get drunk with these people. They may take a photo of me looking so horrible, which might cause me to retire early,” he joked.

Singer Kim Hyun-joong revealed hilarious and embarrassing pictures.
In celebration of the 100th episode of the SBS show “Kang Heart”, Kim Hyun-joong, Yoon Se-ah, Kim Ji-sook, Hwang Kwang-hee and others made an appearance.
Kim Hyun-joong said, “There are four types of friends who are close to me. Friends, dancers, the trainees and my company colleagues”.
“It had been a year since I joined the new management but I still couldn’t be close to the others. I have been around 10 countries on an Asian Tour and that’s where we got close”.
Kim Hyun-joong couldn’t go out because of the fans that gathered at a hotel they were staying at, so he drank wine with his colleagues. There was a punishment for the first person to get drunk and in the end, one passed out.
Kim Hyun-joong then said, “I didn’t know they were that much fun. They told me to reveal them on “Kang Heart”". He showed pictures of his officemates with pictures drawn on their faces, drunk.
After that he said, “I don’t get drunk when I am drinking with them. If my pictures come out like this, I might have to leave my job”.
Meanwhile, about Lee Seung-gi, Kim Hyun-joong said, “Seung-gi gets upset very easily” and called him the ‘grudge-holding Seung-gi’.
